Selecting velocity models using Bayesian Information Criterion

We present a strategy for selecting the values of model parameters by comparing walkaway Vertical Seismic Profiling data with multilayered in context Bayesian Information Criterion. consider -wave traveltimes and assume elliptical polar velocity dependence. A different propagation speeds, depending on angle propagation, can be good approximation medium composed thin layers. While anisotropy one-layer yields results, need efficient tool inversion has appeared. To obtain proper set specific parameterization, we have proposed two steps optimization required In first step, find signal trajectory; second minimizing misfit between data. By models choose best sense Bayes The solution consists three layers; it is supported both Criterion geological information.
